But better than the stats are some of the stories. Here are just a few to indicate the blessing released by God through the Festival:

"Can I thank you for a superb breakfast meeting. It was the highlight for me in a wonderful weekend. My guests enjoyed themselves so much that we had to be asked to leave after the event and carried on talking outside the Victory Room."

"One of the politicians present at the breakfast expressed his admiration for the organisational ability of Christians. He had recently attended a political meeting at which 10 party faithful had attended. In the next room there were 50 Christians at a prayer meeting!"

"I had opportunity at the breakfast to talk about forgiveness with an agnostic who is facing some enormous constituent challenges at present, and the Lord really used the opportunity. She expressed her heartfelt thanks, saying she had found the breakfast very helpful."

"On Saturday night so many people went forward I went out to help and led a 56 year-old self-employed worker to Christ. His first name is Christian, and he is one now!"

"On Sunday afternoon, I walked out on to the ground next to a 74 year-old retired company director who also gave his life to Christ. He attends an Anglican church, but had never made a commitment to Christ. I was amazed how easy it was to work through the steps that we were trained to do in the Christian Life and Witness classes."

"My wife and I valued the Breakfast as a genuine means of connecting with our work colleagues and neighbours, with their spiritual well belling in mind. It has helped us to be more explicit about our faith in public, especially at work."

"How exciting it was to see a 90 year old man counsel a young married man of 37 who came forward; to see a 79 year old gentleman who has cancer but still managed to attend on Saturday night, and then to have opportunity to witness to a young Indonesian couple after they had come forward."

I went out as a counsellor and had the joy of meeting a 60 year old grandfather who had been brought to the Festival by his 10 year old granddaughter. What a privilege to see this gentleman respond to Christ".

In conclusion, what a magnificent privilege it has been to be part of a wonderful team working together with people from 800 churches across Melbourne, acting as one body in the primary purpose of God:

"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost” (Luke 19:10).
