The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
the Lord has done this,
and it is marvellous in our eyes.
The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad.
Lord, save us!
Lord, grant us success!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of
the Lord.
From the house of the Lord we bless you. The Lord is God,
and he has made his light shine on us.
With boughs in hand, join in the
festal procession up to the horns of the altar.
Psalm 118:22-27 |
Some cornerstone: some 33.2% of the
world's population, some 2.3 billion people call him Lord of
lords and King of kings today!
Let's celebrate what the Lord has
done!
But this celebration comes at such a
cost. From the hands of love to betrayal and the altar. Life
given on our behalf to fulfill the demands of justice: his
death in our place that we may live!
The altar is the place of sacrifice.
The horns are the place of mercy. Jesus death. Our life.
Judgment without mercy will be
shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs
over judgment (James 2:13).
So with Christmas trees in our homes
let us also join in the festal procession up to the horns
of the alter where life has been given for life. Mercy.
Thank you Father, Son and Holy Spirit. |
